Conocida por apelativos como La reina del blues, Queen D o Miss D, se trata de una de las principales voces femeninas de la música negra, y una de mis favoritas:

Hoy cumpliría 87 años, murió por una sobredosis de píldoras con alcohol a los 39 años. Dejaba a sus espaldas una conflictiva vida sentimental, con siete matrimonios.
